While renovating the Manse, the family lived in two towing caravans. One of these has recently been spruced up and is where WWOOFERs stay.

The caravan is about 50m from the Manse near the fungi production area. It is a 5 berth caravan from which we have created a great living space with a double bed, seating area, kitchen and washroom. The caravan has electricity, access to water, and a composting toilet close by. There are also a cloakroom and a bathroom in the Manse that WWOOFERs are welcome to use. We run a totally non-smoking household and this includes the caravan.

All meals are provided in the Manse, breakfast and lunch are more 'help-yourself affairs' and a cooked meal is eaten with the family every evening. We are not a vegetarian family,but the meat we do eat is wild or happy meat and we will do our best to cater for vegetarians. A taste for exotic fungi and eggs would be an advantage!

The Manse is set in beautiful surroundings. It is 1.5 miles from Strontian village, which has a shop and a post office, and only 200m from the local hotel which has a public bar. The view from the caravan is of Loch Sunart and the hills beyond. There are great walks throughout the area especially in the nearby Sunart Oakwoods and towards Ben Resipole. We have bikes that WWOOFers are welcome to borrow to explore the area. A local bus goes into Fort William (and back) Monday to Saturday, giving about 4 hours in town.
